Abstract

Intraoperative TEE played an important role in the localization and confirmed the adequacy of the excision. In addition to the information derived from TTE, the significance of perioperative TEE in LA myxoma excision for detailed diagnosis and therapeutic guidance is underscored by (i) confirmation of preoperative findings with precise localization of the myxomas attachment site, which helped in surgical planning; (ii) documentation of complete tumour removal; (iii) evaluation of mitral valve repair; and (iv) diagnosis and grading of post-repair mitral valve regurgitation.
